Poem: Aim To Please

Aiming To Please

Aiming to please

It’s a disease

Though once a breeze

Now makes me wheeze

Care for others, always please.

With some, it is a disease.

Little things, people will say,

“I prefer it to be this way.”

Put aside my preference then.

I’ll have time for me, but when?

Lived my life this way for years

Until lately, brought no tears.

Had time, and a dear close friend,

To see our desires tend.

Friend is passed, I’m on my own,

Must now manage needs alone.
