Poem on Public Speaking

Toast Masters

Joined toast masters one day.

Thought it would be like play.

Goal. . ., well, to better speak,

Stand on stage, knees not weak.

But hands shake, sweaty pits

To face crowds, gives me fits

Picturing group, all nude

Getting in better mood.

Laughing at thought, I smile

. . . Forget to talk meanwhile.

Crowd thinks break poetic.

Not know, feel pathetic.

Take deep breath, tensions ease.

Said my piece, didn’t freeze.
