Poem about a Soldier

The Soldier

Man went off to War

As many men had before

Leaving home his wife

Adjusting to this new life

Wife raising kids on own.

Connecting each day by phone,

Feels not so alone.

When at home he worked

In city where trouble lurked.

She frets for his safety

Yet safer at war may be.
